Recently, DALROD Oxford was called in to assist a public sector client following the critical failure of a key pumping station. The failure had the potential to cause significant disruption, but thanks to the quick action and expertise of the DALROD team, a potentially severe issue was efficiently managed.
Immediate Response and Action
Upon receiving the call, a tanker from DALROD Milton Keynes was immediately arranged to empty the tank and prevent further complications. Simultaneously, the expert team from DALPUMPS were mobilised to site to install two temporary pumps. This swift response provided the necessary time for the client to gain approval for a comprehensive overhaul of the pumping station, including the controls, pipework and pumps.
Efficient Installation and Upgrades
Over the course of a few days, the DALROD team worked diligently to install two new pumps, valves, floats and upgraded control gear. During the process a section of corroded rising main from the gate valve in the tank to the MDPE pipe was exposed, removed and replaced with a new section of ductile pipe. Replacement of these key components along with regular pre planned maintenance will ensure the long-term reliability of the pumping station.
