Repair and Re-Benching to Enhance Home Safety and Drainage Efficiency
The team was called to unblock drains that were causing a significant inconvenience to the homeowners. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the manhole was not only shallow but in a state of disrepair. This was leading to frequent snagging of tissue and other debris.
Understanding the urgency and potential hazards, DALROD Nottingham’s skilled engineers meticulously re-benched the internal structure of the manhole. This ensures a smooth and efficient flow of waste.
Additionally, they replaced the old, damaged manhole cover, which had become a trip hazard, with a new, secure cover.
This intervention not only resolved the immediate drainage issues but also enhanced the safety and functionality of the drainage system.
Restoring Functionality with Expert Drainage Repairs
During another visit to a residential property, DALROD Nottingham attended to unblock drains and assess a manhole. Our engineer discovered the manhole to the stack and lateral to the downstairs WC filled with tarmac and stone.
To address the issue, our team excavated an area of ground approximately 1.5-2m square to expose the pipework. They repaired the rest bend to the soil vent pipe (SVP), assessed the damage to the downstairs WC line, and cleared out the debris.
Additionally, the manhole had sustained damage, which DALROD promptly rebuilt and re-benched.
The project was completed with the installation of new pipework, repair and re-benching of the manhole and the reinstatement of the ground level. All facilities are now fully operational. The customer can use their downstairs toilet without any ongoing issues.
