DALROD believe in getting involved with local charities wherever possible. We know that a vast selection of local organisations are doing wonderful things and running important events within many of the communities that we operate in.
Although we cannot contribute or support every single one, there are some organisations who we find it tricky to refuse. Circus Starr are one such company.
We first became involved with them last year through DALROD Coventry & Warwickshire, as they sponsored some children to attend one of the local events. You may not have heard of Circus Starr, so here is a little bit about them. They are dedicated to organising and successfully running traditional Big Top circus shows. These shows are specifically designed for vulnerable groups, including children with mental and physical disabilities plus children of low-income families who couldn’t otherwise afford to attend an event like this.
DALROD Peterborough heard that Circus Starr was running a local event close by and took the opportunity to sponsor 30 children to attend. Many of the employees within the DALROD network are parents themselves and can relate to an event like this having attended themselves at one time or another. The circus is popular with so many people and families up and down the country therefore it made perfect sense to offer our support in this way.
Circus Starr tour their fantastic show all over the country throughout the year. They pride themselves on being an inclusive event where all children in attendance are free to be who they are, and a ‘tut-free’ zone is encouraged to allow everyone the chance to enjoy the experience as much as possible. This particular event took place earlier in the year at the Cresset in Peterborough on January 23rd 2023.
Jim Parrish from DALROD Peterborough commented “Supporting an organisation such as Circus Starr is really important to us. All children deserve to experience the joy and excitement that comes from seeing a live performance show, and we were delighted to be able to sponsor some children to give them that experience.”
We hope that all the children who have taken part in these events have had the time of their lives and that the memories last a lifetime!
